Ring Report June 14, 2009
Minutes for this meeting.
The theme for the June Meeting was Gaffs & Gimmicks, with Brother Don Paul as the Theme Leader.
For gimmicks, Brother Don showed a number of flesh-colored appliances that facilitate the palming of difficult items, such as silks and loose salt.
He showed a gaffed finger ring, a gaffed pen, and several gaffed wallets, explaining the miracles that were possible with these simple items.
He devoted considerable time to a number of gimmicks that facilitate the performance of mentalism.
Brother Don went on to perform a colorful feat of mentalism using five pieces of plastic fruit.
He showed five cards on which he wrote the names of the five pieces of fruit.
A psychically-gifted volunteer from the audience was able to place each of the five face-down cards in front of the correct piece of fruit.
Brian Rodgers was able to establish a psychic rapport between two volunteers. He directed them to close their eyes, then touched the nose of one of them.
He asked the volunteers to raise their hands if they had felt him touch their nose, and both raised their hands.
Prashant Srivastava showed a deck of cards bearing numbers on their backs. He asked two volunteers to call out numbers between one and fifty-two.
The card bearing one of the numbers was found at the position in the deck given by the other number.
He then showed a sealed wallet bearing a single card, the card that was chosen.
Prashant went on to demonstrate a book of test objects from a psychic research institute, with each page bearing a unique word, shape and number.
The book enabled Prashant to demonstrate his psychic abilities in a most convincing fashion!
